I've got an old Xtasy GeForce2Ti I use in one of my older machines that won't take to any drivers. It's in the same machine it's always been in, I've just decided to re-install WinXP.
WinXP SP2 fresh install detected it correctly, and I'm using it right now and it's fine even for Max Payne (apparently Microsoft's driver can perform decently).
I tried a couple Xtreme-G drivers, but they didn't install, so I figured XG cut out support for GF2 era cards. But nvidia's official 77.77 drivers don't work, either. Everything gives me this error:
"The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit."
I've used this for years and it's never done this before. The only difference between this driver install and the last one I did that worked is that I've replaced the dying HSF on it with one that doesn't use the fan connector on the GF2 itself, but rather it uses one of the mobo's.
I'm stumped. This hasn't been a good month for me and hardware. Thanks a lot in advance.
