I am getting terrible results in benchmarks etc with my Hercules geforce2 64mb card. In 3dmark2001 i get scores of about 1300, in mercedes benz truck racing @ 800x600 by 16bit I get 50fps. These are way too low for my card. Also in Counterstrike I get about 70fps... which is great, but my friend with a piii and same vidcard gets 100fps consistently.

Win2k
Aopen AK73PRO mobo
VIA 4in1 installed, but I then uninstalled the IDE drivers since they suck.
Detonator 6.5's from nvidia's site are being used
Tbird 1100
256 pc133 memory @ cas2
3com NIC, sb plat, and scsi card

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you,
-Tom

Try the 7.58 drivers
http://www.the-ctrl-alt-del.com/Drivers.htm
I don't use win2k, but these drivers are supose to give a good boost on Win2k.
You might also check to make sure that you have antialiasing set to "off" in your Open GL settings and vertical sync turned off on your D3D settings.

You don't have AA stuck on by any chance do you? To be sure, I would do an uninstall from the control panel, and then reload the drivers.

I tried the 7.58 drivers, and performance improved slightly... 1-2%, but not what I was looking for. I am going to try removing AA, but I don't believe it is on because I would expect better image quality if it was.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Try setting your AGP aperture setting to 64. Sometimes a higher number can hinder performance. If it's too low it can also cause bad performance. Also, when installing the VIA 4in1's, make sure you install the AGP driver in "turbo" mode. This sets AGP to 4X, but on some sytems, it doesn't work, so you need to hack the registry:
