HI all: I found the geforce2 MX Powercolor video card.
According to the MFG it has fast ram, and comes with overclocking software. I see that it has a fan on the card also. I have found a price of $109 with TV output on this card. How does this card fare compared to other brand Mx cards? I get the impression the Guillemot, cardexpert, and hercules cards are very good. I could not find a ram speed on the MFG site listed. Thanks all

The Hercules/Guillemot GF2 MX runs at 175MHz Core & 183Mhz Ram as standard.

Comes with a nice overclocking utility called 3dtweak and 200/200 overclock is easily achieved. Needs a fan added if you require faster speeds.

PowerColor are a small Taiwanese company used more by OEMs than end users. This said, if you're strapped for cash then I shouldn't be too concerned in buying one.

I have had a powercolor GF2 MX, for about 3 months or something. It comes with 175 MHZ core, and 143 MHz Memory. They do not overclok very well I have found compared to other MX's. With the over clocking software that comes with it I can only get my MX to run at 163 memory, and 195 core. Also the driver suck, and the Detonator 3 drivers do not work, the drivers are made by Powercolor. In my opion I would go with another company. Try ASUS.

I hope this is helpful

I've heard the Powercolor's boards have notoriously bad 2D image quality issues, more so than other manufacturers of nVidia's boards. If you buy it make sure you can return it.

I wouldn't recommend the visiontek. I found a source that says the memory is already overclocked by default, and it runs pretty hot to the touch. I've heard great things about the hercules though.
