Sounds like these cards are starting to arrive. I read one review on it which said the Voodoo5 works better and is faster on the PCI bus. I don't have a lot of money to spend on a Voodoo5 and was wondering if the GeForce2 MX PCI would be faster than the Voodoo4 or Voodoo3 PCI? Anyone read anything about this or have any ideas?

ViaHardware just did a review of the PCI Inno3D Mx and it seems to take a beating from the AGP version. I was looking into getting it, but it may just not be worth it

faster then a voodoo 3? No way. I just got my ocie.com OEM version of the Toronoda Geforce 2 mx 32 megs of 6 nano second samsung ram, w/heatsink and fan ( I didn't order the fan But they sent me one anyway;))..........

Anyway I had a Voodoo3 3000 in my system it is faster then a geforce 2 mx but, the image quality is far superior on the gforce mx. 32 bit color, full scale antialiasing, T&L on the card, etc, etc, etc.

The difference at 16 bit color, normal settings,640x480x16 quake 3 demo2 is the geforce about 75 frames per second and the v3 3000 about 90-95 frames per second with a 840 MHz celeron 2 ( 533@840 )........Now at 1024 x 768 on a 17 inch monitor in 32 bit color 32 bit textures everything on high, quake 3 is still playable..... and it looks like I never new it could!!!!!!!!!! awsome baby!

Now If I could only figure out why I cant over clock it. the default settings are 175 core and 166 memory on my card. If I try to turn the core up even 5 MHz it locks in the quake 3 setup screen.......If I leave the copre alone and try to overclck the memory by as little as 7 MHz it locks in quake 3 setup screen... I have a feeling its 6.18 driver I am using that everybody seems to have some kind of trouble with.......i just found the newer detonator and I am going to try it now.......Il let you know if I can overclock with this driver.
I really need to get some more out of this card, I heard it was easy to over clock, and get almost Geforce2 ddr performance at the lower resolutions. well see.....

Zogg, the Geforce2 MX is definetly faster then a Voodoo3 you must have yours not set up right ,the V3 was a good card but it`s getting old & cannot stay faster then newer cards coming out ,(lets be honest here)It would be like me saying a Geforce 2 GTS is faster then a voodoo7.

I take it back.....I just got the 6.28 detonator driver and replaced my 6.18 detonator driver with it. Holy Sh_t!
I cant beleive the difference! I must of gained about 40% in speed alone! I did a time demo at 16 bit color and 16 bit textures normal everything elase @ 800x600 =123 Fps ! Then I went to the highest of everything in quake 3 timedemo 002 @ 800x600x32 bit color 32 bit textures evrything cranked up to the max and I got 78 Fps ! At 1284x1068x32 all of evrything cranked to the max and I get 47 Fps ! Not to shabby, if I do say so myself. who needs to over clock it now? I even tried to over clock with the 6.28 drivers, and sure enough it worked but I didnt see a significant improvement over it being normaly clocked. Granted, I didnt go to far, just 183 core from 175 and 182 memory from 166. I think it was that 6.18 driver, it just would not over clcok even 3-4 megahertz without locking up in quake 3...Now I feel it could go up to maybe 1888 core and 185 memory or near those figures with my 6 nano second ram on my inno3d agp 32 meg oem w/heatsink and free fan from ocie.com.
