GeForce2 GTS core chip: How much power does it need? Need info on its thermal design.

Can I replace the small and loud active heatsink with a bigger and quiet passive heatsink? How big should it be?

IT should be ok, I would clock the core down to 180 instead of 200 if you do this. Remember the Gefroce 2 MX only has a heatsink. There is no fan on it.

Yeah, but I want to know what I'm doing. It's not funny if I just use any heatsink I like, I want the heatsink to be able to dissipate enough heat produced by the chip.
