Geforce2 GTS 2d quality?

I remember reading somewhere that the 2d quality of Geforce2 cards vary from brand to brand and from card to card.... How good is the 2d quality of geforce cards? Also, how good in general are ELSA geforce2 GTS cards?

Most of those posts are asking about a GeforceMX... and they refer to the quality of the ELSA geforce MX, but not many mention the GTS.

In general, nVidia-based cards have always sucked at 2D (not that their 3D image quality is the best either ...), but what you want to look at is the board's RAMDAC (brand and speed). Alas, other factors such as circuit design and trace quality also play in to the equation of getting good 2D output quality.

I'd say ELSA is probably your best bet. They have the most experience/best track record at producing higher end boards.

I read the review of the Leadtek Winfast GeForce 2 Ultra at GotApex? and they say that teh Leadtek board has better 2D image quality over the Elsa board. I own the Leadtek GeForce 2 32MB and it has very good 2D image quality.

I'm so tired of watching these hilarious arguements.
When are people going to udnerstand the facts, that the nvdiai bad 2d is only related to grille monitors.. which is still msot people's, but if you don't have a grille.. (shadow mask) then you can run them very well.

@ 1024 x 768 on an Elsa Gladiac Gf2 GTS it is as good as a Voodoo 3 2000 personally... @85 hz
