GeForce2 Go successor

I need to purchase a notebook soon and was wondering if Nvidia will be coming out with anything that will best the ATI Radeon 7500 Mobility video card. Does anyone know when Nvidia will ship something that replaces the current GeForce2 Go? Are there any articles out there on the web that discuss Nvidia's portable video plans? Thanks.

Nvidia is coming out with the Quadro 2 Go as for when or where I do not know I need to find out soon as well because I want a 1Ghz + laptop with a video card thats good to replace my computer

I'm looking at notebooks for my dad, and at the store, all of the ones with geforce2go seemed to be really washed out. Maybe that's because they're running old detonators in XP, but they still generally looked like crap, which was bad, because the Toshiba's that generally have them tend to be sweet deals.

How do all of you feel about the Trident Cyberblade, they seem to have the best 2D (based on my own eyes) how do they perform in 3d?

I don't think we want the Quadro2 Go because it's meant for mobile workstations. From the Nvidia website:

"Quadro2 Go ushers in a new era of advanced computing and 3D visualization capabilities for digital content creation, special effects, post-production editing, and 3D entertainment applications."

I don't think these are for playing games.

I also found this:

NVIDIA Quadro2 Go Fuels New Class of Fujitsu Siemens Mobile Workstations
SIGGRAPH 2001 ? LOS ANGELES, CA ? AUGUST 14, 2001 ? NVIDIA® Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA) announced today that Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC) has chosen the new NVIDIA Quadro2 Go mobile graphics processing unit (GPU) for their Celsius line of mobile workstations PCs. By incorporating the powerful graphics enabled by new Quadro2 Go in the Celsius Mobile H, FSC will deliver the world?s first professional workstation in a notebook format. Celsius Mobile H systems featuring the Quadro2 Go will be available in fall of 2001.

So they should be coming out soon. Just need to find out if they can also be used for games, and whether the price is reasonable for game use.

ATI has a track record of releasing a mobile product to retail about 7-8 months after its first product announcement. This places the ATI Radeon 7500 Mobility video card around March/April time frame. The Geforce 2Go is probably yourbest solution for now. The Quadro 2 Go has additional hardware features however most games don't take advantage of these features and thus may not offer you muchof a performance boost. TheQuadro 2 Go is designed for professional users and graphic and model design users, not for gamers (although it will play games great).

We will have a product ready to compete with the Radeon 7500 mobility. We are sorry but we can not comment on the release date. NVIDIA generally tries to keep product announcements to 2-3 months prior toshipping date.
