geforce2 crashing

i've got a geforece 2 card from creative labs, the annihialator 2. IT works fine during 2/d usage, dvd lpayback, microsoft word, 2/d games like starcraft, but crashes after a few seconds during 3/d usage, quake, diablo ii on 3-d settings. I have an athlon 800 system running win 2k professional with direct x 8.


any ideas would be most helpful.
