Geforce2 Compatibilty Question

I own a Hercules/Guillemot Prophet II 64 GTS... And am thinking about switching over to an AMD platform (like the 1 Ghz Thunderbird). If anyone has this setup, please post your response. I would like to know before starting this setup. Otherwise, I will go with the i815 chipset.

I had a Geforce 2 GTS (Asus v7700) running on an A7V without any problems. Just make sure you use a 300watt power supply and that you are using Via's latest AGP miniport drivers

You should have no problems switching over. The New T-Bird/Duron's socket A require much less power than the original Athlon Slot A did. Same holds true with your GeForce2 card, which also uses less power than the original GeForce. As such, the power supply requirements have dropped to around 250w, but most have no problems even with 230w supplies, unless you plan on powering a bunch of HD or CDRoms as well.
