GeForce2 64MB GTS 3DMark scores?

I was checking out Different drivers for my Hercules GF2 GTS 64M card and testing them in 3DMark 2000. I got the drivers from Riva3D and was wondering if anyone else has done the same for me to compare it to.
Before I put the scores, I must say that I was very disappointed with Win2000 performance. The scores were so low that I didn't even bother to write them down.

The Scores:

Win98se
Guillemot 5.34 drivers

I tried the 7.17 beta drivers and they scored extremely low (under 2500).
Has anyone overclocked their card higher and how much. I tried but the tests would freeze on me. A 215 core and 390 RAM was the highest I could get and be stable.
Also, has anyone had better luck with other drivers?

If anyone has an Ultra out there, can you post your scores? I am thinking of getting one and want to know how big of a difference it would make!

I ran it the other day and came up with these scores:

VisionTek GeForce 2 GTS 32 MB running at 200 core/333 memory

6.31 nVidia reference drivers

1024 x 768 (16 bit) Score: 5891
640 x 480 (16 bit) Score: 6347

1024 x 768 (32 bit) Score: 4610

All tests were run under Windows 98 SE. That Ultra should be getting at least over 7000 points, because I've seen some people with a similar setup as yours getting past 8000 points.

Your scores are low. I get over 7000 with a Classic Athlon @900 , 256 MB ram, Geforce 2 GTS 32MB...

You should definitely be over 7000 and probably close to 8000 (or over)

Have you installed the Via 4in1 drivers (checking agp turbo mode)? Also make sure DMA is enabled for your hard drives. I don't think the drivers are the problem, but you might want to try nvidia beta 6.34 or 6.35.

Here were my scores roughly with a Geforce 2 GTS 32MB and TBIRD 950

1024x768 16bit
7453 (I believe, it was 74xx)

I had the core clocked to 220 and memory clocked to 360 I believe.

Well, I thought I installed the latest VIA 4in1 drivers (4.03) but I might be mistaken. I did just reinstall windows so I could have made a mistake. I'll check it out and see though. It could also be my video card settings and what tweaks I have enabled. I'll test different settings and let you know. I'll also try the 6.34 and 6.35 drivers.

I guess I forgot to mention in the first post that all the scores were at 1024x768x32, not 16. I can get well over 6000 with 16 bit. I think I'm going to try the other drivers tonight.

I'm trying to figure out what may be wrong with my wife's system...

Celeron 850 (OCed 566) on an Abit BM6
Hercules Prophet2 GTS 64MB using Nividia's 6.31 reference drivers (not OCed, yet)
DirectX 7.1
256MB
Win98

And it only pulls down 5200 at 1024x768 16bit... That's just not right.

In Q3A it runs well (78.8fps at 1024x768x32bit in demo001 w/ all options turned up). What could I be missing here?

Hey Thorn,

If you go to www.riva3d.com, they have all the latest detonator drivers and I found that the 6.47 drivers are the best so far. You should try these drivers and make sure your motherboard drivers are all updated (ex. agp).

I think you will score a lot higher with these drivers and with a motherboard driver update.


I guess 57xx isn't a bad score in 32 bit mode
