What's the difference between a geforce2, 3 and 4? I just saw a geforce2 128MB card on ebay. I thought only geforce4's could be 128MB. What is being "upgraded" on the card to warrant it being called a geforce2, 3, 4, etc?
A bunch of different things. The GF2's are Direct X 7 compliant I think, while the GF3's are Direct X 8 and the GF4's are 8.1. The GF3's have stuf like pixel shaders and lots of improvements over the GF2's. Same thing with the GF4's. They are an improvement over the GF3's(The Titanium line, not the MX one; Those are just enhances GF2's).
I'm not too technical as you can see, someone else can explain it better.
