Well first off it would be, Nvidia vs. Ati. But anyway you would see around a 40-50fps increase. If you look here http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2278&p=6 you can see that even on an ATI "biased" game that there is a huge difference between a 9800pro and a 6800gt. Because the 9800xt is only like 5-10fps faster then the pro. Except these don't have any AA which I think but ,I'm not sure, helps ATI.

Happy shopping,
Andrew

I did the same and running H2 at 16x12 was a big improvement. But 10x7 on the 9800XT ran excellently as well. I just like hi res gaming but that's just me.

The 6800GT is significantly faster than the 9800XT. Unless you've got a slow system there's no reason to not upgrade.

I wouldnt upgrade anything higher then a 9800, unless your some rich freak, 9800 and higher cards are still fast enough.

I would upgrade, but as long as you don't tell us what you do with what kind of PC it's hard to make recommendation.

I say go ahead, because there is a big performance difference in newer games like Doom3 and HalfLife 2. Plus, the resale value of the 9800XT is good now, so purchasing the 6800GT wont hurt as much if you sell the 9800xt now.

depends on the rest of yo system

this isnt a clear black and white decision stud.

i say (generally): if you have a 2500+ or equivalent P4 or faster, go for it.
