I'd love to have one of those bad boys. I do some CAD work myself and I can't believe how much money most people pay for video cards just to play games. At least CAD cards can potentially pay for themselves. Oh well, to each his own.

Did you see Tom's review of the the FireGL2? http://www4.tomshardware.com/graphic/00q4/001213/index.html
It beat a Quadro2 Pro in most benchmarks. The FireGL4 would be even better.
I do however, have to give Nvidia a lot of credit and praise. A T&L engine on a video card helps immensly in CAD work. This used to be a feature reserved for only very expensive, high end, CAD video cards, but now you can get a T&L card in the GeForce2 MX for under $100.

The new Fire GL4 is a high performance 3D and 2D accelerator targeted at mid-range to high-end workstation systems incorporating
Intel Pentium?III/IV or AMD Athlon(TM) class CPU performance. Based on the Fire GL3, the Fire GL4 is expected to be 25 percent
faster at the same price as the Fire GL3. In addition, the Fire GL4 will utilize the same drivers as the Fire GL3, thus taking
advantage of all the driver performance tuning and reliability of proven products

This damn thing has a bigass copper fin heastink w/fan, occupies 2 slots.

Price under US$2000...

Cool!, but if you look at the specs, the GF3's 76 GFLOP beats the GL4's 35 GFLOP. The Quadro version of the GF3 should kick a**.

It is like comparing a John Deer tractor to a Porche.....The GL is a workhorse and the Porche is, well you get the point....
