I know full well that Quadro/Fire cards offer superior image quality to their gaming siblings when it comes to CAD/CAM, and that the gaming GPUs are faster for gaming, but has there been a detailed review/comparison of how the professional GPUs compare in gaming image quality to the gaming GPUs? Obviously it would be slower, but would the rendering be superior or identical? Would the difference only be obvious in OpenGL and not in DX?

I can find plenty of comparisons in performance differences in CAD and gaming. I can find plenty of comparisons in image quality for CAD. I can't find comparisons of image quality for games. Any help would be nice, thanks!

Games are all 8-bit,don't see where they can gain any image quality here from a quadro. And if there would have been IQ difference, anandtech and other sites would have reported years ago likely. :)
Quadros have better double-precision rate than Geforce and also better OpenGL drivers plus some other tweaks which some CAD applications can benefit from.Double-precision mainly makes for the reduction in error and hence better quality image where it is used.

Even for applications used for video editing like Premiere Pro,Vegas, etc Quadro/Firepros are not required unless one needs SDI output or 10bit colour support.Geforce/Radeon do better in those uses and are way cheaper.

That's sort of what I figured - is that the software (game) would have to be programmed to utilize that precision. I was just curious if it impacted image quality in things like AA/AF.
