GeForce Pro -------> Quadro???

I have noticed several references to people converting GeForce cards to Quadro (sp?). What is the benefit/use for doing this? What are the risks?
I have a Creative GeForce Pro and am curious as to if may be some benefit to me. I use my card for gaming/DVD's and to look at a few photos from my 1.3 digital camera.

If you can't solder........forget it. Benefits for me were better 2D....this had more to do with removal of some cap's and shorting some inductors. But I did notice an overall improvement in vibrance......color and image.
I think the performance was pretty much the same in 3D apps.
If you can solder SMALL parts......go for it. There is a link @3Dguru.........check it out.
