HI all,
Have some parts lying around and hope to put to good use.
Having a hard time finding out if the Geforce 4 MX4000 agp 4x will go in a Intel mainboard that has a i815 chipset in it.
Don't want to blow it up.
Thanks in advance

yeah it should work, the i815 is a agp 4x chipset so the card should operate in agp 4x mode

As long as your board has an AGP slot on it, then you will be fine.. It will run at 4x speed (which is quite ok), and 1.5 volts..

Careful... some of those older motherboards don't like newer video cards. If it's AGP 1 or 2 only, and the video card is 4 or 8x only..... you see? ;)

But if your 815 motherboard is 4x, you're good to go. It wouldn't do any harm to try anyways.

OTOH, if you used an old card (if it even fit) in a newer motherboard (4/8x) you could fry the whole system! Many Voodoo5's did that to the 1st -gen P4's.
