I have been trying to get the TV out on my Geforce to work for a long time, and it is getting incredibly frustrating.

I have the S-Video to RCA adapter hooked up to a 15 foot RCA cable, which hooks directly into the TV

With the latest drivers, i go into Display properties and Device Selection

The TV option-bubble is not highlighted, it is unusable. This is even when the TV is set on Input-mode.

I selected the option to force the use of the TV output, but still there is no response.

How do i get it so that my TV will recieve the computer's signal? nothing seems to work.

Thanks,
Adam

;) GF4 addressed the issue of standardising the TVout, GF2/3 were very inconsistent with the actual implimentation and you often find the nVidia reference drivers DO NOT WORK WITH YOUR TVOUT and most people have to revert back to the disgustingly old drivers provided by the card manu. However help is at hand, check out TVtool which should overcome this AND gives you plenty of sw tweaking options ... that nVidia could and should have provided by now ... just another reason to go ATI IMHO.

PS. Also check your cable length as high quality signalling like SCART, S-video etc are designed with a max length of around 2M IIRC (6.5 foot). You may have to use a VCR or something to convert to a std aerial (RF) type lead which can be VERY long.

A friend has a geforce 3 Ti 200 that uses the generic Nvidia drivers, and TV output works

What are the utilities that you need for TV-oUT for a geforce 2?

:) The generic nVidia drivers are the best to use but on GF2/3 it was hit & miss if your TVout was recognised and supported with them. IIRC sometimes you had to boot up with the lead out and then plug it in when Windows loaded (or maybe it was in then out then back in) ... sorry I can't rem specificly. To enhance the TVout sw like TVtool is highly recommmended and although there is a small fee if you want the full version you can try the time limited (10min?) version for free .... worth a try.

;) I'm certainly no expert and terminolgy differs but the TVout is either S-VHS or Composite. Without getting remotely technical SCART is the best quality, then S-VHS and then Composite ... they are all designed to carry one single signal/picture with high quality over a short distance. You can find various converters very easily but looking at the back of your card should reveal what type you have on the back of your card.

S-VHS:

Composite:
