Gotta love competition. Forces companies to out-do each other for our benefit. They're going to have to lower the price of the 650Ti though, which is already at about $140.00.

Cool :)

This seems like a Nvidia GTX 660 with less Cuda cores, since its 192bit and has 24 ROPs.

The 140 GB/s memory bandwidth is more than the 7790 have (that barely break 100 GB/s).
Its gonna be fun seeing where it ends up, performance wise.

This is probably gonna end up right around the 7850, by my guess, maybe a tiny bit slower
(but probably a little closer than the 7790).

Lets see which ends up cheaper, the new GTX 650Ti or the 7790.

I wish these would drive prices down, it appears they (650 ti boost, 7790) are mostly just filling price gaps, not really dropping anything (immediately at least). Then again next gen would be welcomed too. :)

If it's reasonably faster then the vanilla 650 ti and is actually around $150 it will drive the 650 ti down a bit where it fits performance wise (compared to 7770 and 7850).

BTW, the guys over at BSN are huge AMD supporters, so it's no wonder that they are referring to anything Nvidia does as desperate.

I don't understand why any tech website tries to be sensationalist with their headlines in most ordinary circumstances. It just makes me roll me eyes and not want to read it.

I clicked on this thinking "boost leak"? What, does clock speed taper off under heavy load.... like the Titan kinda? lol. Then quickly realized you were referring to a pending new release.

car/GPU guru mentality,lol.

I made the same mistake but assumed the OP wouldn't be caught dead bringing up an NV bug that wasn't widely known.

Do you honestly think sites like Fudzilla, SemiAccurate, and BSN* exist for consumers/hardware enthusiasts?

These are thinly veiled fronts to help sell research/inside scoops to the guys on Wall Street.

[citation required for emphatic accusations]

From S|A:

"Professional
The highest subscription level on SemiAccurate. A Professional subscription gives access to all content as soon as it is published. There is no waiting period for news important to your business. Pricing is $100/month for access."

Right, so hardware enthusiasts are going to pay $100/month for access to S|A's stories? The bulk of the people buying this stuff are industry analysts. Now, I don't have any problem with selling research - it takes a lot to get these stores - but if you think these sites are run for the benefit of a few hardware enthusiasts, then...well, I don't know what to tell you ;)

http://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-gtx-650-ti-boost-launching-26th-march-fast-tackle-radeon-hd-7850/

Possible launch date March 26th or 27th. About 200.00? And looks like a hint about it's performance:

"Getting back to the performance bit, the faster core clocks and memory interface help elevate the core performance of the card by almost 20% (13on average) over the Radeon HD 7850 in Battlefield 3, Borderlands 2, Crysis 3, COD: Black OPS II, Assassin’s Creed 3, Skyrim. Furthermore, the 2 GB memory over the 1 GB on Radeon HD 7850 helps it maintain a better performance ratio in 1080P gaming. It should be noted that AMD has discontinued the production of the 1 GB model of the Radeon HD 7850 amidst non-availability of memory modules it used but the GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost would be fast enough to tackle the HD 7850 2GB or perform similar to it."

Good balanced reporting on that site it seems...

Utter fail, Will. Useless. The links at the bottom are just "related" to the article you are reading. Here is what I see when I view a 7950 review from WCCFTECH.com

All you look for is the bias. Start looking in the mirror if you're that insatiable for it.

^ doesnt make sense.

*IF* the 650ti boost is around 13% faster on avg than a 7850, that would make it FASTER than Nvidia's GTX 660 (non TI version).

They already have a card around 13% faster than the 7850,
its called the GTX 660.

why would they make a 2nd card, to compete with their GTX660, and have it be a lower number? ei 650ti ? doesnt make sense.

If it was faster than the GTX 660, it would have been called 665 or something. Its called 650ti, and thats probably because its slower than the 660.

So Im guessing the 13% performance figour above the 7850 are abit off
(or abit generous via marketing leaks ect).

Actually, the GTX660 is in many cases faster than the 7870. It depends on the game of course, but the GTX660 dusts the 7850 most of the time. You can hunt for benchmarks supporting either the 7870 being faster or the 660 being faster. Take your pick.

@Keysplayr

I agree the GTX 660 (non ti) is side by side,
or sometimes tiny bit ahead of the 7870 (stock).

My point was....

the new 650ti, *if* it really is 13% faster than the 7850.
It will have performance that MATCHES the GTX 660 (or 7870).

why make a new card that lands right smack ontop of a excisting (nvidia) card?
Does it make sense to have a 660 compete with a 650 card nameing wise?

To me it doesnt, same generation of cards, Id expect the card with the highest number to be the faster of the two.

GTX 660 is already selling for 200-220, if this nips it's heels and sells for $200 it's a product overlap failure.

They need a 160-180 product not another $200 chip.
