Geforce GTX 595 has two GF110s [FZ]

Why not? It would be the fastest card out there. price it at ~$500
and it will beat the snot out of a gtx580.

You not gonna see high end dual cards till late Feb at best.

Why make a dual card out of Barts? Is there really a market between a GTX 580 and what is most likely going to be GTX 595/AMD 6990. Most people will go straight ahead to a 6990/GTX 595. Unless of course AMD/nVidia are trying to make the flagship dual GPUs expensive as hell.

I thought the 4850x2 was a great idea ,remember that card?

I would think a gtx570x2 or 6990 dual would be about 700$+.
You?

Have a couple of dual mid range cards in there between the 500$ and 700$ price point

I believe we will see 2 dual cards the gtx590 and 595. Gtx560 x2 and some kind of gtx570 x2.

not likely unless evga does a true 1-off. even amd with their dual gpu strategy hasn't put anything but their top of the line card as a dual gpu as long as I can remember. 4850x2 was a sapphire creation, and nobody tried it with 5850 (well, amd sort of did since 5970 combined 5850 and 5870). I'm not saying that there won't be a market for a 6870x2 or gtx 560x2 for that matter, I'm just saying that the manufacturers, based upon past experience, are more apt to devote their resources to making an ultra top-end dual gpu card.

The dual 4850x2 was a terrible idea, that's why it never came back in the HD 5xxx series.

I am thinking that depending on the relative performance, the 6990 might be around 600-650$ while the GTX 595 will be 700$+. This is assuming the GTX 595 is a dual GF 110 card and is of course faster.

I believe a dual GF110 with full 512 shaders each can be achieved with downclocking to say 600mhz core and an Arctic Cooling Solution

The 4850x2 card had crap drivers but could beat down a gtx285 for 300$.
Nothing wrong with that.

Well the 5970 was top dog and had a $679 price tag.
There is no reason I see for not pricing these cards around that price range.

The gtx580 is 500$ (top dog), why not a faster 6870x2 barts/gtx560x2 for about $550?

A good cooler and cherrypicking cores can go a long way. The chips could perform between a 570 and a 580. Which would put them ahead of a pair of 6970s.

4850x2 was a Sapphire creation, Bryan is right, therefore neither company has done this before, I don't think nVidia wants to creat competition for it's own product and AMD already is trying to grab the enthusiast crown by building the 6990.

4850X2 was a GREAT idea that Ati screwed up because they couldn't make a decent set of drivers for it.
It was a great idea by Sapphire not AMD, get the facts straight buddy.

Also, GTX 595 comming out before AMD 6990 is possible...
