Hi

I have a primary GTX 275 driving two monitors in my PCIe 16x slot of my P5B deluxe mainboard.

I'd like to run a 3rd monitor with a cheaper second video card, and there's a second PCIe slot available in 2x/4x mode. I was looking at single-slot video cards in the 200 series (in order to use the same drivers as the first card).
I'm not trying to SLI them. I just want to run a 3rd monitor independantly. TripleHead2go is not what I'm looking for.

The GeForce 220 seems to be one solution. The question I have is wether it'll accept to run on a 2x/4x slot, or does it require a faster slot. I read the specs for the eVGA 220 and all it says is "PCIe 2.0 x16"

Thanks

So long as the card physically fits in the slot it will work fine for what you want to do.

Some 4x slots are actually half sized x16s though (some are not) in which case, unless it is an open ended slot, the card will not fit without modification.

Based on any photos of a p5b I have seen the second slot is a full x16/x8 sized slot.. which will work fine.
