I looked up some scores of the 3dmark06 and the Geforce Go 7900GS is in line with a BFG 7800 GT.

Is that about right do you guys think these 2 video cards are equivalant?

yes...the two cards are pretty much identical in specs...

only major difference is the 90nm core on the 7900 GO GS, slightly lower core clock
(375mhz) and of course lower power consumption. i remember reading an article where there may be a desktop version released.
 
Also if you OC the 7900 GO GS it should take you quite a bit further than the 7800 GT would. I can clock my 7900 Go GS as high as 620/1200 without any problem which gives me roughly 5000 in 3dmark06 and ~9000 in 3dmark05.

Just think, that OC is inside a notebook. I bet if it was watercooled it would easily hit 650+.
