I know this is a bad questino but I am still intersted. My friend wants to buy a laptop for gaming, and I'm telling him no...that it is cheaper to build a desktop and then get a cheap laptop for the simple word processing he wants to do, but right now he isn't very receptive.
So he asked me what I thought of the 7400 GO and to be honest...I have no idea
I looked around and for a laptop card it seems to do fine. Can run many of the latest games at 800*600 or 1024*768 at mid to max settings....
But I want to see how it compares (not raw specs...those for the large part are more cryptic and useless) to Desktop cards for two reasons
A) I'm interested in seeing where it lands in terms of the overall spectrum of cards
B) I want to see if there is any appreciable price different to try to get him to invest in a desktop for gaming
Does it beat a 9600PRO in the majority of tests (what he has now...and i hope it would!)? How does it compare to contenders lke the 7600GS and other lower range cards for the computer?
If anyone has had experience, and has a 7400GO ANDa desktop with a different card and can give some preformance advice that would help greatly
