The fan fix is working :)

Wonderful news. I'm waiting to snag an EVGA GTX 1080 SC which I will water cool with an EK block. I plan on moving to GTX 980TI SC to the 4790k rig and the GTX 1080 SC to the 5960x rig.

Just curious, but was it just the revving issue, or has the average fan speed also been increased like some were speculating?

It just spun up randomly for 1 second and down again. No change in fanspeed. If any changes in terms of fanspeed they happened in .25 or before.

Thanks. So that would mean that the max fan speed with the stock fan curve is still 55% then. I believe this has been the case ever since the first review driver (which were the 368.13 drivers if I'm not mistaken).

It doesn't really matter for the end user anyway, I mean it's not like it's hard to increase it manually, and the noise levels are quite respectable at the current 55%, so it shouldn't be much of an issue to raise it by a bit if someone feels the need to do so.

While I agree with the point of your post, It isn't unreasonable to think that NVidia shifts their focus to current gen cards in performance driver updates.

You mean like they did with Kepler? It took people screaming bloody murder to get a Witcher 3 performance driver for Kepler, and they said it was a "bug fix" that they coughed up in like 2 days that added 10% performance.

Thanks for the heads up on this new driver. My experience didn't notify me of any updates until I manually used it to search for one after reading this post.

This might be one of the better drivers Nvidia has released in a while. My YouTube videos are no longer scrambling at random and I've gained 7 back on my GPU core clock
