I'm hearing that this driver is suffering from a few issues (which I assume is why that other poster didn't make this thread like he usually does), so it might be a good idea to wait for a hotfix. Digital Foundry's analysis suggests that RotTR runs fine already anyway.

The big overlooked new feature is support of external GPU via Thunderbolt 3. This is done for all Maxwell cards. Rumour has it the i7 NUC will support external graphics via Thunderbolt 3. And Apple as well plus the usual other OEMs.

Hey Techhog, how do people find the -HF driver aside from the threads posted here and elsewhere? It's always hiding on that custhelp site.

Oh don't worry, everyone will notice this feature in time.

I updated to this driver and I do not have this problem of graphics card appearing in the list of eject-able devices (like a USB disk drive).

GTX 960 / Windows 7 64 bit

Probably a Win 10 only thing

Also, remove the nVidia backend service from startup. That's not needed. It's just more bloat.

Is that tied to GFE Or whatever their software is called? I noticed that application started using 15-20% of my CPU randomly. I didn't mind it when I was surfing the net but I could feel the performance hit when gaming.

I quickly uninstalled GFE and that application stopped popping up. If it is now baked into the whole driver suite sans GFE, thanks for the protip.

I've never used GeForce Experience. I'll continue to avoid using it as long as I can.

The only resolved issue is "Eject NVIDIA Graphics Device".

They have separate downloads for Windows 7 and 8 and for Windows 10. So this might imply that the GPU eject issue was not limited to Windows 10.

That's probably just the cogs of the machine. New driver, everything is published.

There's also a new 361.75 Quadro Driver I installed yesterday on my Workstation build. Thank's god without all the bloat. The eject device feature is not present there either, using Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB N and a Maxwell based Quadro M5000.

I have not used a Geforce card in a while but thinking about buying a 980Ti or Titan X to play a few new games I have on my radar. What is the current state as far stability goes with Geforce cards and Windows 10?

Reading geforce.com forums and reddit makes me think the driver quality must be at an all time low, I hope that's not the case.

When it works, it's actually not a bad piece of software. However, it seems to not work more than it works as of late. Specifically, it will try to detect games and get stuck there forever. Also, the only feature I can't set in-game is typically to turn on or off G-Sync, and that can be done in the normal driver settings page easily.

In summary, it's currently a bloated POS that needs to be updated to work properly or gotten rid of entirely.

Even more strange, I only had one computer out of four show an Eject notification for the graphics card. The computers that didn't show the notification had GT 520, GT 630, and GTX 980Ti cards in them. The one that did show it was a GTX 970. All are running Win10 64bit Pro, and the desktops running the GTX 970 and GTX 980 Ti are running the exact same hardware and BIOS revisions; except for the CPU (3570k vs 3770k).
