I don't understand why people would place a card in PCI slot 1 anyway. No matter what video card I use, I make sure that my AGP has some room to breathe.

Thats what i have been doing since geforce 1, i need to get another pci cooler to go in pci slot 2 to help it out.

Yes, and the only reason you would want to use PCI # 1 is if you have a PCI video card.

hmm, I use pci slot 1 with my i875 m/board since I need the slot.
btw on my board agp & slot 1 don't share the same irq unlike earlier generation boards!
