GeForce FX 5600 Ultra - Rev1/Rev2 and Flip Chip ?s

Hey All,

I just picked up a GeForce FX 5600 Ultra and have been reading the forums about "Revisions 1 & 2" boards and those containing a "Flip Chip." My questions are:

1. What is the difference between Revisions 1 & 2, and how do you identify if you have the board.
2. What is "Flip Chip" and how do you identify if you have the board.

Thanks!

The easiest way to tell if yours is a rev1 or a rev2 is to look at the clock speeds. A rev1 will be clocked 350/350. A rev 2 will be clocked 400/400.

Rev. 1: wirebond, 350/350MHz core/DDR mem.
Rev. 2: flipchip, 400/400MHz.

The chips look different, too, but that's impossible to see without removing the HSF. Just check the clock speeds.

Thanks for the replies... how do you check the clock speeds? Is there a utility for download that lets you see the clock speeds? Also, where can I find an overclock utility for download?

Thanks again!
