GeForce FX 5600 DVI question ..

I realize this card has a DVI output but I'm not sure which kind. DVI-I/DVI-D ... I don't really know anything about DVI, I'm new to the world of LCD monitor's. The monitor I'm looking at has a DVI-D in .. how exactly does this work, can a graphics card be DVI-I and the monitor DVI-D or must they be the same, is there a cable to convert.. sorry, I'm just a bit confused. 🙂

DVI-D and DVI-I are compatible with each other.
My 9700pro has a DVI-I interface on it, and my Hitachi CML174SXW, has a DVI-D connectors, and they work together in pecfect harmony.
I think that the -(letter) part of the DVI think indicates the type of analogue connector it has. Cos the large part of the connector is the DVI (which has the digital signal), and the small square bit, is the Analogue part. Not 100% sure though. It doesnt convert though.

But I've DVI-I to DVI-I cables and DVI-D to DVI-D cables does anyone happen to know what kind of output the GeForce FX 5600 has?

Probably supports both. If it fits (the cable), then it`ll probably work, try it, it wont damage anything.
