Hi,

Whats the difference b/w Geforce FX 5200 and Geforce FX 5200 Ultra ?

Does the ASUS V9520 Magic/T use the ultra chip .

Im a medium gamer, and i wanted to get a not so expensive but good card. Right now decided to go for the ASUS V9520 Magic/T (GeForce FX 5200 with TV-out,128MB DRAM). Any other suggestions?

Thnkz

I suggest not even bothering with a 5200 FX as theyre terrible cards for gaming. The old Geforce 4 TI 4400 outperforms it... Get an ATI 9600PRO//Geforce 5600U//Geforce 4TI 4400 these are okay cards but i dunno about the prices. Anyways just avoid that 5200 FX card its evvill!!

The difference between the two are clock speeds. Some manufacturers included temperature monitoring on the FX 5200U cards.

The card you're asking about uses the FX 5200 GPU, not the Ultra version.

5200 = 250 core/400 mem
5200 ultra = 325 core/650 mem

Even for a medium I'd get a better card than this. Let us know your budget so we recommend something better in your price range.

Hi

My budget is in the range 100 -150$

How about Radeon 9600? I saw many cards in the 9600 series, which one has the least cost:perfomance ratio

Any other cards?

with that budget the 9600XT is a good buy. if you can extend your budget another 9 to $159, the XFX 5900XT from newegg is the best buy

also, don't buy a 9600se as those have 64bit buses as well.

go for a radeon 9600 pro 128mb for around 140$ at newegg.
It is the best deal u can get a million times better than the 5200 ultra and quite better than the 5600U

yep, i feel ati radeon 9600 pro will be a gud choice.

Are hercules cards cheaper than the ATI ones.

Frankly, im really confused about which card to go fo, Nvidia or ATI chipset :)

Which card is the best in the aroung 100$ range...shld have 128mb ddr,agp 8x and a 128mb mem bus.

Here in india, we dont get ATI cards much, the card which the shop offerd were one asus v9520, one from MSI, one from GAINWARD , all based on fx 5200 so im gonna ask one of my friends in US to bring me one when he comes down here.

And i dont want to invest much on a card, cos if something happens , i dont have a choice other than throwing it in the bin.
