GeForce FX 5200 not seeing all it's memory

I got the card about three weeks ago. I don't know if I just haven't noticed it or it was saying 256 and for some reason it went to 128. What could be some possible causes of this?

Just downloaded them and still got the same problem.

It says 128 right when I power on the system on the video bios flash so that is why I hadn't tried the drivers

Oh I see, sorry I am not talking about flashing the bios of the video card. I am talking about when you power on a system and the display adapter shows the bios info/memory info for a brief second. When it does that it only says 128MB

aha during post. Are you sure this 128 isnt the agp aperture size?? and not what the GFX card actually has on board?? AHA lol

If the bios shows it, then the bios is probably right. If you payed for a 256mb one, you got a 128mb one and they ripped you off. Send it back.

Yeah, it is definitely a 256 meg card and it definitely is only seeing 128. Luckily I bought it at my work though so hopefully they will just let me swap it for a new one as I no longer have the receipt 🙂

Well I took it back to my work and swapped it for another one. It was definitely the same card, the only difference I could find was the old box said version 3.3 on the label and the new one is 3.5 I put the new one in and it now says 256mb and is recognized in windows as 256 as well. I guess the old one was just broken and couldn't address half its memory.
