GeForce Forceware 260.93 Win 7 | Vista

What's up with these drivers. nVidia released the WHQL then one day later there are new drivers already. BTW these drivers don't show up on nvidias site.. You can only get them from www.guru3d.com

There is no XP driver,, get used to it,, alto 66 percent of computers still use XP ,, Microsoft is slowly gonna extinct that OS and force everyone to Vista and W7 . For example IE9 will not run in XP its only for vista and W7 . Also security essentials the virus malware app is for vista and 7 .

Also your limited to DX9 with XP. For those ticked theres no XP driver, backup your stuff and format and install a recent OS not a OS from 2001 that looks the same as 1995 Windows95. Same start menu and taskbar and interface. Windows 2000 was pretty solid but ya even though majority still use XP microsoft is slowly gonna extinct it. Thanks gg and gl and gb

Good post my friend. Soo far these drivers are stable, everything is ok no problems. Things were already fast soo I cant say its faster but I can say its stable playing all games.

I wonder what the changes are from the 260.89 drivers. But all is good.

BTW this doesnt install phsyx, but dont worry you already have physx installed. You can choose custom and remove the 3d glasses so that doesnt get installed, just install drivers and your set. thx

[EDIT: Sorry, this is in reference to the 260.89 WHQL's from NV's driver download page, NOT the 260.93 beta drivers my mistake!!!]

Lol god damn NV drivers.

Downloaded -> Express Install -> Screen goes blank, never comes back (waited about 5 minutes) -> Restart just fine -> NV control panel tells me it can't launch because version mismatch plz reinstall NV drivers 🙂

This is on a clean Windows 7 install mind you, no old ATI drivers lurking around to muck things up. Older release drivers for the 460 installed and worked just fine, barring the retarded "adaptive power mode" glitch which brought a couple of my games (SC2 for example) to a crawl when NV's drivers decided to drop to idle clocks in the middle of my game.

Just throwing that out there for all the "LOL NV's drivers are like a castle of crystal meth and hookers compared to AMD'S drivel" crowd.

Thanks for reading time to try again...

[Edit: Second time's the charm, made it past the "Screen flicker" this time without falling into limbo. Time to see whats what!]

Oops is this not the 260 WHQL thread?!

[Oh crap sorry I thought this was the 260.89 WHQL thread. Misread the title and didn't find an actual WHQL driver thread... My prior post is in reference to the recently released 260.89 WHQL official drivers straight from NV's own driver download page sorry for any misunderstanding...]
