I stumbled over it trying to squeeze a decent DVD-playback performance from my K6-III @ 450 / Creative Geforce 256 Pro:

CPU utilization actually increases by 25% compared to smoothest setting *) if MC is enabled:confused:. Same with Power-DVD AND WinDVD2k 2.3.

*) DVDGenie: [NVIDIA Mode]-TNT interlaced / [hardware BOB mode]-active / [Deinterlace Mode]-force weave
(Yes, drive-DMA is activated, got most recent card drivers detonator 6.31 / creative's 6.34 - doesn't matter which, newest VIA 4-in-1 for my EpoX MVP3G5)

After days of experimenting I surrendered and upgraded to Duron700/ASUS-A7V - finally enjoy smooth playback -phew- :D
But still there is a 10% CPU-utilization increase (to 55%) in MC-mode. Even though this doesn't have an influence on DVD playback it actually annoys me - what is this MC good for, anyway ?
