Geforce died, need to return to Creative, anyone do this before?

Ok, a couple of problems. First, my Geforce died.. so I need to return it. Second, I replaced the stock fan with a Tennmax cooler, so I need to replace the original.

A couple of questions I guess, has anyone ever returned something to Creative Labs, how long did it take, did you need a receipt, etc? I don't have the original receipt for the Geforce.. so I guess I can't prove when I bought it.

Also, has anyone replaced the original fan, and then glued the old one back on? Obviously I guess I officially voided the warranty, but if I put the old one back on I guess they would probably never know.. or care. I guess its kind of unethical to do this, but the fan I did use to replace the stock one was MUCH better, so I don't feel like I did something stupid.

Would appreciate any comments before I go into this process, and I guess this is assuming the Geforce's have a year warranty with Creative Labs?

BTW, I did buy a Geforce 2 to replace it while I am going through the repair process, the card runs SO much cooler.. very nice card..
