No. At best, the 9500GT will be about as fast.

The long and short of it: nothing worthy of gaming, even for a 3-5 year old PC, will be under $70 or so brand new. The era of old tech dropping in price to make way for new is long gone. The best value is usually somewhere between $125 and $250

I'm still experiencing fps lag while gaming,

What game? not the one you told me about with the gf ti4200 requirement. No way, a gt210 would easily run it. And you have a pent D at 3.0.

quote:
Here is the requirements for the game.
Minimum Requirements Recommended Requirements
OS Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7
CPU Pentium III 833MHz Pentium III 1.2 GHz
Graphics Card GeForce3 64MB GeForce4 128MB
DirectX DirectX 9.0b
RAM 256MB 512MB

yea the game gets updated monthly. so the reqs have minor changes sometimes. It lags for like about 2-3 seconds every 10 minutes i'm assuming. I can play the game, but I still feel lag.

Can you please give us the name of the game?
Since you have windows 7 and only 2gb of ram it might be a problem.

a 9500gt is hardly a good card but it is about twice as fast as the gt210. and a 9500gt can play older games just fine and most newer ones are okay at low res and medium settings. I know because I have an 8600gt which is basically identical performance wise.

He is playing a free internet game that has ultra low requirements. He said it pauses/lags every ten minutes! Thats not the video card, the gt210 is more then enough for the game. I just played it with my laptop and integrated 3200 graphics with a dual core AMD @ 1.2 ghz. The only difference is I have 4gb of memory vs his 2 with windows 7.

It must be the server or his internet connection.

His machine is at least 1.5x faster then my laptop.

/me takes notes
I had no idea the GT 210 was quite on that level, but you're right. I thought it was more in the range of 1/2 performance of the 220.

Yea I know the game sucks, but I play css on my laptop, which is no problem. I just want to play on my desktop with this fps game, so is the 9500 better or worst cause the store is selling it $44 bucks at Ultimates. I also have $10 gift certificate for best buy as well and as you guys said best buy is a ripoff. The only selection Ultimates has is 9500, 210, and 220. Best buy varies depending on the store.
One of these with $10 dollars off? Or Should I get rams? Or just stick with the VC I have and maybe something else might be causing it.

Is this one better ?

I see, so the problem is not my vc. So is the 9500 at $44 a good price?

I just returned my 210 and got the 9500. It seems to run faster and I got it for 39 bucks.
