It'll never be developed. We peaked with the 7950 and x1900XTX, they are the end of the line... nVidia and ATI have ceased R&D on new technologies.

Isn't it funny how people expect us to know something that hasn't been announced, let alone exist?

Nobody knows a damn thing about the G80...why the hell do people keep asking about this?

Sorry for the outburst but I had to get it out there.

The crystal ball says...because people are too lazy to use google or other convenient search tools. And this is not about the G80 but about all things in general. We live in a society that is all about instant gratification. So much so that they're too lazy to do a simple search on the internet with it's vast amount of information. I understand that sometimes it's difficult to sift through a lot of the junk but usually you can find what you're looking for in a couple of minutes and 15 minutes tops.

You guys expend more time and energy mocking the guy.

To answer the OP, no word on G80 or the "8" series yet.

There, very simple.

"""sigh""" More time and energy than if you just told him what to do. Sheesh.
Why? Do you think I'm wrong? You think its better to do what you guys just did instead of helping the guy or at least try to answer his question?

thank you keysplayer for remembering what these forums are about. It is very low for established members of a forum to mock a new member when asking a question. Sure we get this question alot, but that doesn't mean you have to mock the guy. This is the reason I spent so much time on different forums. They have members that help noobs.

I second keysplayer's post we don't know much about the G80 except that it should be DX10, everything else is speculation. Try the Inquirer theyusually have speculation articles you can read just don't take them to seriously they are usually wrong.

I wish matrox would develop a gaming intensive card, all they would have to do if develop a strong performing card at either mainstream or even budget fields and price it accordingly to ATi and Nvidia's offerings, and they could regain some power in the market. I wouldnt know how hard exactly this would be to accomplish, but still im tired of only having 2 companies to choose from!

Word. Lol, I also didn't know the OP was a "noob". If he wasn't a noob, the situation would have changed ;)

Has nothing to do with him being a "noob" and everything to do with the way his question was worded. "Are they making anything better or is technology stopping dead in it's tracks?"
