GeForce 7950 Mobo Compatibility

I recently ordered an MSI GeForce 7950GX2 not realizing it didn't work with all motherboards. I'm using it to replace my overheating X1900XT, which hit a whopping 104 degrees C with ease.

So, I went with the 7950, but I'm not sure if my ASUS P5B P965 is compatible with it. I went to a local computer store to ask them, and they said it would, but I didn't see it on the nVIDIA website.

Will it work? Thanks in advance!

Yes, for the 3948357 time, the 7950GX2 will work with any motherboard that has a x16 PCI-e slot... ANY MOTHERBOARD

NO ANY MOTHERBOARD!!!! 10000000000's of people have asked this and it works on ANY MOBO!!!

Thanks for the info. But, when I called nVidia they said it did not work with all motherboards, and at the current time, it wouldn't work with mine. I think I'll trust you guys though.

Yep, I've seen one working in an ASUS (don't know the model) that's not on the list in person... so I know it works 😉

Not so sure it works with ASUS P5B I have a P5B Deluxe and it dosent seem to work for me, I only get about 5000 points in 3dMark 2006, I checked around a bit and that it was people usalluy get with a geforce 7900GT so I am guessing its only using one card.

Does anybody know if you have to initialize something to make it work, checked around a bit in the nvidia driver panel or whatever its called but I couldent find anything.
