Hi, i'm thinking of buying a Ge Force 6800 (not the LE version, the standard 6800 version),but my computer is 3 years old and is a little outdated..i think. Will i see a boost in the games performance?

AMD Athlon XP 1900+ Processor
Asus A7V266-EX Motherboard (Via KT 266A Chipset)
768 MB (266 MHz-PC2100 DDR DIMMS)
Audigy 2 ZS Sound Blaster Sound Card
Ge Force 2 MX400 (yeah, it´s too old,i know 🙂
300 Watt Power Suply (Is it enough for the GeForce 6800 ?)

Thank You.

6800NU will be a perfect fit. You'll see a HUGE performance increase. If you had a PCI-E board, I'd recommmend the 6800GT. Although a 3 year old computer is... OLD! Maybe it's time to upgrade to a sweet nForce4 setup?

yeah sure you'll see a boost indeed. a very nice boost. going from DX7 level to DX9c level hardware is gonna be hella nice!.

you might want to look into a new PSU, depending on the brand yours is.

of course your going to be CPU limited in alot of cases, but to be honest, i find even lower graphics cards like 9500pros to be cpu limited at times, so its not something you can escape. of course when you do find that your CPU limited, its time to push up the eye candy levels!

that 6800 should be a worthy upgrade, but please think about gettin a new PSU also

You would see huge performance increase. Sooner though you should consider a CPU upgrade as well. Your GPU would not be working at full potential because of your CPU.

I have an Athlon 1.2 GHz. You know I find that my GeForce 2 Ultra is CPU bounded in some games like Call of Duty lol

ok.I think your're right about thr PSU.I want to buy the graphic card mainly because i just want to play Grand Prix 4 at a higher video resolution(1024/768 ) and a higher graphic detail.
