Please excuse me if i sound like a newbie.

I just traded my 250 GB HD with my friend for a shuttle he had. (good deal ;) )

This is the shuttle that i have now CLICK HERE

Intel P4 2.4 GHZ
160 GB Maxtor
1 GB Geil DDR Dual Channel RAM
Audigy 2 SZ

Here is my problem:

I have reformated numerous times and have concluded that the core of the problem(s) might be my video card and sound card. My problem is that everytime i boot up windows, my internet stops working. It seems like there is some kind of a firewall stopping me from viewing pages. I go on firefox or IE and try going on msn.com or yahoo.com and it say "Page cannot be display".

But when i take out my video card and leave my sound card in there, it still doesnt let me go on the net or vice versa. But when i take both of them out, it works just fine. I put in my old 9800 Radeon 128 DDR in and its working fine. I havent completely tried out the gaming with it but it seems to work fine. I will go home tonight and try it and give an update on it.

My theory is that it has something to do with my motherboard having ATI Chipsets and ATI chipset not working with Nvdia cards but that doesnt explain the sound card issue.

What can be the problem ?

I am planning on building a new pc. But what motherboard can I buy which the 6800 will work on with garuntee.

Thank You

your chipset shouldnt have any idea what gpu youre using....chances are (if you have broadband or connect thru a lan) its a network problem

IRQ conflict is what is sounds like to me. Maybe move the card to another slot (soundcard) and see if that works.

In the bios disable the onboard vid and audio so you are certain they are disabled. When installing you should be doing it in the order of OS+service packs, latest chipset drivers, latest vid card drivers. I wouldn't do the install with the audigy in either, I would install it after everything was up&running, if at all :p ;)
