Well I need to sell my radeon 9800 Pro and then probably some so around $200

Honestly, the 6600GT isn't much of an upgrade from the 9800 Pro.

Go for an X800XL or 6800GT or don't bother.

Look at those specs on toms hardware the geforce 6800 is double the framerate of the radeon 9800 pro

A 6600GT performs almost the same as a 6800. Just read the reviews at Anandtech or Tomshardware.

A 6600GT is a nice upgrade over a 9800 Pro. While a 6800GT or a X800XL will be more future proof (if there is really such a thing in the PC world), the 6600GT is a nice little card.

Funny how that page is the Doom 3 comparison, where we all know the nVidia cards will dominate.

The review from Anandtech Usandthem posted just above actually proves my point.
There's not enough of a difference to justify spending the extra money.
That's IMHO anyway.

Ya it stinks when you have a wife and kids that you have to have an allowance!

No wife, but three kids, 4 desktops, 1 media center and 1 laptop. With good video cards I know where my children are. My WOW bill is larger than my gas bill.
