My setup

Pentium 820D
2GB Corsair DDR2 533
Nvidia Geforce 6800 NU over clocked to 400/825

Overclocking the video card at the above speeds gave me 4800 3D marks 05.

But for some reason since I got that score, my score is falling down to 4086,4053 inexplicably. I didn't install anything in between. I restarted the computer, samething. THe Vid card is idling nicely at 46 C. Why the huge drop in score?

The room teh computer is ambient. The computer itseld doesn't appear overheating as it runs all tests flawlessly.

Help.

Nope, same drivers. At first I thought it might be stuff running in the back but I also seem to remember I got the 4700 score with whole bunch of stuff in the back too. But I went ahead and turned them off but still I am now stuck at the low 4000

the exact thing happend to me on my 6800ultra score from 5600 to 4800 instantly, check if add/remove programs to see if you have an agp driver. I somehow lost mine, people said it happends sometimes when you update drivers but it may or may have not been the case. Anyhow just check if you do it should be there, if not then download the latest version from your mobo chipset.

The card I have is PCI-E, is there such a thing as a PCI-e driver?

Uninstall your drivers and re-install, see if that takes care of it.

The only time I've had this problem is when I've adjusted the RAM timings in Nibitor. Flashed back to stock gpu bios and it was fine.
