Link.

8242 at 325/700MHz (default clocks) and 8647 when OC'ed to 350/800MHz on a P4 2.4B. Pretty durn fast for a $300MSRP (I'm guessing 128MB) card. A $210 9800P won't seem like such a good deal if the 6800 dips to $250 soon after it debuts, but I doubt we'll see the 6800 for a month or two, and I doubt it'll be available in sufficient quantity to drop in price soon thereafter.

Not bad!! I'd like to see what it can do when not so CPU limited. But 8000+ 3DMark03 is very respectable.

Can't wait although it probably won't be my next card but it's nice to see prices drop nevertheless.

I'm sticking with GT, definately not another 12 pipeline "pro". Pathetic, since this Geforce NU can match it perfectly well while costing 100 bucks less.

The 6800NU can't match the X800pro perfectly well, and it isn't necessaily going to be 100 bucks less either.

Why do I suspect that ForceCalibur knows this?

Pipelines aren't everything, especially when you compare 1 GPU architecture with another.

lol.. match this:

3DMark Score 10115 3DMarks
CPU Score 683.0 CPUMarks
Compare URL » http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=2547581

i think the GT will be comptetive, but doubt the NU will.. still the NU will be a nice card in its price class.

the better the vanilla 6800 performs, the lower the price on all cards. Very good news.
Now if they only had anything for sale.

3dmark03 is almost exclusively GPU limited. That said, 8700 overclcked is rather unimpressive considering I can reach almost 7000 on my 9800 pro.

CaiNaM, although that is a nice score, the machine you link to has a 900mhz clock advantage on the cpu. Not to mention double the ram. I am sure the 6800NU would measure up nicely to that score.

yea.. but i dunno.. something is fishy. the site also gave another reference score of X800Pro, which reached 8700 in 3DMark2003 powered by P4E 3.4GHz platform - 3.4 P4E should be MUCH faster than mine..

i have no doubt the 6800u will be a very nice card, i just wish the damn thing would make it to retail.

That X800 Pro is also overclocked.

Agreed. I think your score tells everything. This guy must be doing something wrong. I mean 8700 on a P4EE?? Cmon.

and it's over 9000 stock.. on a lower clocked cpu.

it's just one part of the puzzle. not irrelelvant, but at the same time it only shows a small part of the picture. unfortunatley, it's all we have for now, heh.

So you think that a 3.4 GHz P4 wouldn't raise that score? And you must also think that if you run the same 6800NU on a PIII 733 the score wont lower I bet. Because 3dmark03 is almost exclusively GPU limited right? Ok then.

Actually, yeah, pretty much.

review

P42.8 to a P43.4EE is about a 200 point difference. Between the 2.8 and the regular 3.4C it's about 100 points. The Prescotts do a little better in 3DMark03, but not that much.

The gap might be a bit bigger between a 2.4B and a 3.4E, but probably not much more than 200 points.

The thing thats really nice to see is, Nvidia's slowest new gen card is faster than anything that came before it from both camps. Definately not a 5200 repeat. I would say the same thing for ATI, but the X800pro is not their lowest offering as far as I have heard. X800SE? Dunno.
