I'm in the process of upgrading my old Soltek small form factor computer(GF didn't like the loud fans on my old computer) so I can play HL2 🙂. It's model number 3702. I just bought 1GB of 3200DDR rams and AMG 3.0 400FSB. I was planning to get the Geforce 6600GT AGP (to replace my 4200Ti), I just realized that my computer only has 200 power supply. I have a 200GB 7200 HD ... a dvd burner and cd burner.. no floppy drive.. and external harddrive(but this has it's own power). Will my computer not able to run with the 6600GT? I'm not gonna do any overclocking, etc. What if I take out the CD burner? I saw some Anandtech reviews running the ATI 9800Pro. Is the ATI 9800 comparable in drawing power to the 6600GT?
My other option is the switch with my GF's computer (it's AOpen small factor), which has 220PS.. and she's running a 2.8 pentium4 (i'm assuming p4 draws less power). My LAST option is to put everything in my old Full tower case but i'll need it to put it in the living room cause it's too loud.
