GeForce 6600 / Help

Well i'm having some issues with the card, first let me start off telling you what I have.

AMD 3500+ / GeForce 6600 / 1.5 gigs ram

I play a lot of games, but i'm really having the problem with Half Life 2, and Counter-Strike Source. The problem is I get bad fps, and it's pretty choppy. I've turned Anti-Aliasing off, V-Synce off, and have turned my CS graphics to medium and still have pretty choppy results. Is there anything I can do to boost my FPS and get a smoother gameplay?

Any comments or suggestions are welcomed.

What resolution are you playing at? Lower it and you can bet you'll get smoother frames.

I'm playing at 1024 at the moment.

I switched it to 640x480, it runs a little better, any more suggestions?

You can always try overclocking your 6600. That core should be able to handle a lot more than 300mhz.

I've thought about that, but i'm not sure where to start, or what to do?

Go to the Clock Frequency section of your driver properties and adjust accordingly or let it detect the optimal settings for you.
