Sharky Mods simply aren't as diligent as Anandtech Mods about locking posts where people talk about returning self-destroyed hardware, but I don't think they'd actually approve the idea. A lot of the members will encourage the poster to do the right thing and eat the loss.

Well, like I said. There's those people who are learning about it for the first time, and those who are constantly searching the web for new info. Holding a grudge doesn't necesarily help anything. But if those people spend money on a competitor's product next time and encourage friends/family to do the same then Nvidia might sit up and take notice.

I just wish we could keep this thread on topic. It would actually become useful without people doing things like posting song lyrics.

Isn't questioning the reactions of others in this situation just a bit pretentious? If I want to "kick a dead horse" or "hold a grudge" my business? You guys REALLY need to just quit it.

Im not trying to judge anyone slim, i was asking a question, was i not? If you took my post the wrong way, my bad, I should have somehow made my post more lucid i suppose. Frankly, I don't care if you hold a grudge or not, its no skin off my back or money out of my wallet.

Then why ask >leading< questions that, even if answered, don't concern\affect you in any way, dog? Your "questions" were lucid enough. You don't approve, and just HAD to make it known. If you REALLY don't care keep your questions to yourself. That would make more sense, by far.

Did I ever say "I James Shin, disapprove of anyone holding a grudge"? Don't put words in my mouth. Its not a "leading" question, its a flat out question. Can I not ask a question? It seems curiosity isn't welcomed here is it?

I thought the same thing when I read that article. nVidia certainly deserves the same consequence, and I'lll be more than happy to jump on the bandwagon when it comes by. Perhaps this will give pause to companies who deceptively advertise features as a finished product when in fact it's not and will never be.

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored,
He has loosed the fateful lightening of His terrible swift sword
His truth is marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps
His day is marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnish`d rows of steel,
"As ye deal with my contemners, So with you my grace shall deal;"
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel
Since God is marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!

His truth is marching on.

In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:

While God is marching on.

so quick to assume...and I assure you, nothing i typed up in any of my replies are "BS" You might want to stay on topic slim, you seem quite occupied with my "leading" questions as you put them...have fun *and ponder them all you want, your trying to hard. I simply just wanted to know what people thoughts were in regards to rehashing something(the PVP) that is clear, cut and dry. Once I again "is holding a grudge going to help?"

Yeah, let's keep this thread on topic!

nVidia has declared some of the PVP functionality of the nV40-45 series to be not present.

As the owner of some old low end ATI cards, Creig is very concerned about an equitable resolution for owners of 6800s!

After all, someday he MAY buy a 6800, but NOT UNTIL nVidia declares the features they have stated not working to be working.

Fellow 6800 owners, I declare Creig to be our greatest friend! Although he has no "skin in the game" he wants to make sure we all "get what's coming to us"!

While you're giving the perspective of 9500NP owners who are concerned about 6800 PVP functionality, I'm giving the perspective of 6800 owners who aren't.

What do you care? Will that help your 9500non pro? Your Radeon 1? Your GF256? At least I actually own one of the cards in question and have some reason to care about this?

Mostly, again I've got to ask Creig, what does a guy with ancient old Radeon cards care about GF6s to show up in a thread about them?

Yeah, I'm sure Creig. As all three of your cards collectively are worth less than half the cheapest 6800, and your newest nVidia card is a GF1, I bet all the vendors are are preparing ad campaigns now for the lucrative Creig account of '05.

let's face it, 9500NPs aren't really something you could post about that anyone would read, and you probably want to feel like you're part of some relevant/current topics, but nonetheless you have no stake in this issue or reason to care at all."

Talk about an EGO! Wow. Here's your "really nice guy" Sickbeast. Yes, what a credit to the forums.

As I've informed you before (not that it's slowed your "My card is better than your card!" playground tirade), I'll upgrade when my softmod 9500NP is no longer able to play games at the resolution/detail level I wish it to. Which is getting close, but not quite yet. So I'll continue to visit 6800/X800 threads so that I will be well informed which to purchase when that time comes.

But by all means, keep it up Rollo. Your little verbal attacks don't work on me. Every little derogatory comment you make to another member is another step closer to getting you permanently banned from here as well.

But in the meantime, please try to stay on topic Rollo. For your sake. I would be simply DEVASTATED if you were to talk yourself into a permanent ban.

Creig you are always whining about going off topic, just to let you know:

Quoting people and then insulting them PROBABLY isn't helping matters much.

Kevin - Please go through this thread and see who's doing the vast majority of Off Topic insulting.

Folks - The best thing to do "IS" to quote those people doing the insulting OT posts. That way they can't go back and edit their comments later. The evidence will remain and as time goes on it will be that much easier for the Moderators to see who has been instigating the majority of the bickering that goes on.

Thugsrook - This thread would actually have merit if it could be kept on topic. But some people would like nothing better than to see it locked as it is non-flattering to Nvidia. Thus the endlessly insulting OT posts.

The point of all of the above Creig, is that you have no reason whatsoever to care about this issue, you don't own a 6800.

I'll upgrade when my softmod 9500NP is no longer able to play games at the resolution/detail level I wish it to. Which is getting close, but not quite yet.

By your own admission, you're not likely to buy one anytime soon, and I'd think if this issue matters to you, maybe not at all?

Yet, look how you show up in this thread:
Looks like somebody has been making friends again.
Your first post, totally off topic flame at me. What's this have to do with 6800s Creig? Yet you seem to expect me to just tolerate you while you flame away.

No thanks- you keep showing up in threads I have business in and flaming me, I'll keep pointing out that guys with 9500NPs(you) have little reason to be in 6800 functionality threads like guys who actually bought two 6800s. (me)

Good day.

So people who don't actually own a piece of equipment that is the subject of a thread aren't allowed to participate in it? I don't recall reading THAT in the forum rules.

I simply found it humorous that people were actually labelling threads asking you to be constructive or stay out. Obviously you've done neither. And as you've done 90%+ of the flaming between us, I don't think you're in any position to complain.

Good day.

Good day.

People? Or one person Creig?

What did you contribute that was constructive to the thread?

The info "you've considered buying a 6800"? Who cares? I've considered buying half the things that cross my line of vision.

Your flames for me? Who cares? OT, and irrelevant.

Your opinions of the 6800 as a person who's never used one? Who cares?

Any new info of the current situation? Nope, none from Creig.

Yet here you are flaming me for "not offering anything constructive" when you haven't offered anything yourself, largely because you have nothing to offer.

There's no prerequisite you own a card to post about it- but IMO to not own a card the thread is about- and then tell the guy who owns one, used to own another - that he doesn't belong in the thread takes some balls or stupidity.

Your logic again escapes me, Rollo. You've already decided that NV's behavior in this matter is above reproach. You don't care that they've screwed you, or the rest of us for that matter. This being true, why do you persist in posting in a thread peopled by individuals who want to bitch about being screwed, share information and otherwise enjoy each others company? It seems to me that you're indulging in the same behavior that you're deriding Creig for. This is especially odd when you, at various times, have claimed not to own a 6800-based card anymore.

I didn't say nVs behavior was above reproach, I said it's another unfortunate example of revision 1 technology working 99%, and that there's not much else to say on the subject since nVidia themselves have stated what works and what doesn't on each chipset.

There's a difference.

I can understand you being disappointed those features didn't come out as anticipated, just don't see the point of this thread when there's nothing new to post about AFAIK. If you want to complain, Creig and Duvie can't help you?

As far as my 6800NU goes, it's giving my son good service. I sold my 6800GT when I purchased my X800 XT PE, which will likely reside in my box till I get SLI or a next gen card. It's a very nice gaming card, plays HL2 very well, and I'd already finished with Doom3.
