Among the changes listed for the 53.03 Forceware drivers, the following line was in there:

Added support for GeForce 5900 XT

5900...XT? Did I miss something here?

neoseeker says:

the 5900 XT GPU will be based on the NV35 (last seen in the GeForce FX 5900 Ultra), retaining the older GPU's 256-bit memory interface and four parallel rendering pipelines. Currently the default core/memory clocks are 390/350 MHz. The 5900 XT cards are expected to be priced lower than the GeForce FX 5900SE (400/350 MHz) cards.

Yep, it appears nV is trying to tarnish ATi's "XT" label by releasing their own XT, only as a lower-end card.

There's an SE too? Ugg, this is going to be a mess; no wonder people have been getting slow 5900nu's from XFX.

Yeap. The Nvidia XT's are their slower card models. I would say compared to a Radeon SE series. Don't be confused by the different marketing.

LOL, LOL, omg funny!!!!

ATi RADEON 9800 ULTRA

200/400 effective speed.

Incredible features like new 16-bit core and all new Sprite Right II (R) make Doom III look like the original Doom at 85fps@85Hz.

You can't go wrong here folks!

the 5900XT is probably a 5600 with some goodies on it. They couldnt sell them all so they put a cool name on it and there ya go! =\

9600 Pro is such a sweet budget card... did the 5700 beat it? (i havnt read the review)
