I am lost when I look out there at all of the video cards. I don't play alot of games but I have $150-$200 to spend. These are two options that I have come up with to go with my new MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum and Athlon 64 3500. Please advise!

The 9800pro is the high end card of ATI's last generation.
The 5700 is the mid end card of Nvidia's last generation.
No ammount of extra memory is going to help the 5700 from getting smoked by the 9800 pro.

No question about it the 9800 Pro is a better card.

here is one benchie to prove it and Doom3 is a game Nvidia cards excel at and it still gets killed..

Heck, the 9700 (both non-Pro and Pro) can still smoke the 5700, and they're one generation further back. Just make sure you get a 9800 Pro with the 256-bit memory interface, and not those 9800SE or 9800EZ cards out there with the 128-bit interface, which really cuts performance back.
