Anyone know any info about Nvidia's next board?
When is it coming out?
What features will it have?
Will it incorporate any of 3Dfx's technology that were going to be in the Rampage?😉
Not very likely about 3dfx's stuff. I think it takes another year or so to incorporate 3dfx technology. According to nVidia, their boards are completely different and in order to incorporate some good stuff from 3dfx one needs to design the card from the very beginning with the guest technology in mind.
Having 4 nVidiFX VSA GPUs with 256mb video memory would sound good. Gives 400 FPS on Quake3A at 2048x1536 FSAA with Full Anisotropic filter On. Could do it me thinkx.. 😛
nVidia 'Eclipse' (NV25) is expected to be released in Q2 2002. Current information suggests that Eclipse will be built on a 0.13 micron process and be clocked at 315Mhz, with access to 322Mhz DDR memory (equivalent to 644Mhz). Eclipse is expected to contain nVidia's nFiniteFX 2 DX9 compliant pixel and vertex shaders, and may contain support for 64bit true colour and improved (10X!) FSAA. The architecture of Eclipse may be 512bit internally and consist of 6 pixel pipelines with 4 texture units per pipeline.
