Geforce 4 Ti4200 direct x 9 support

I wasnt sure where to post this but i was wondering if the geforce 4 ti4200 could use directx 9 i only ask because i want to see if i have to upgrade my vid card for half life 2 to be the best

The 4200 can be used with DirectX9, but can't use all the features provided.

If HF2 uses DX9 instructions, you will need to upgrade for the absolute best.

That said, it's doubtful you would notice much difference between a DX8 and a DX9 card of the same power.

Video card questions are best posted in, say, the video section?

HL2 will scale from DX6 cards to DX9 ones, so the chance are that the only difference between them all is the texure sizes, number of polygons, and amount of particles. I cant see HL2 using many, if any, DX8 features, let alone DX9.
