I got a ATi r9000 Pro and i think this thing sux! lol but it's ok for a cheap card.
I currently have a a7n8x Deluxe m/b and was wondering is the g4 8x kick ass?
how does it compare to a g4 4600?
dazed and confused.....

basically the 8x version of any GF4 card performs only a few percentage points above it's 4x counterpart
the GF4 ti4200 agp 8x won't outperform a 4600 agp 4x card (unless overclocked)

If you have the choice get the agp 8x version, but i wouldn't break my neck searching for one it's not really anything spectacular (yet !)

yeah the radeon 9000 is supposed to replace the 8500 from what i hear so it would have GF3 level performance

Adding 8XAGP to the GeForce4 Ti family of graphics cards is a marketing trick. Negligible performance difference.
