Alright, somethings really messed up with my computer, somehow. My computer would storm through games ever since I got my 4600 for xmas from my dad. (Asylum or something like that is the exact board manufacturer) Well, a few weeks after that, just my luck my power supply fried my computer. Well, the power supply and mother board at least. Everthing else still works.

So I went out and was talked into an ECS board. It's got all sorts of goodies (Onboard Ethernet, USB 2, FireWire, Promise RAID, and a good ole VIA Chipset) and it was only $80, so I went for it. Well, I install it, resolve the little bus issues with my 1800+ (stupid hard to see under my hard drive jumpers) and all was well. Except that even after that my gaming performance in ANY FPS has been utter shit.

Half Life or any HL mod runs like crap
UT2k3
RavenShield Demo
BF1942

Just some that I notice horrible lag spikes on. Like move and get 5 FPS on. Anti Aliasing is off, Refresh sync is off, 41.09 drivers in use, and it's still crap.

Everquest and SC4 are the only 2 games that run without any bad form of lag on my computer. I can even run 2 copies of EQ with EVERY thing turned on/high at 1024 and get no lag, but try and play CS at 640x480 and I get 10FPS.

I'm lost guys. I don't know what I can really do to fix it other than maybe playing with the AGP bus in my mobo's BIOS, other than that, I'm lost. Cards too old now to return, and so is the new mobo...

What AGP drivers to be exact? Would I find them on the mainboard disk, or the GeForce's disk?

I sound like a noob now =(

Solved my own problem

I had neglected to ever install my onboard sound since I have my Audigy Plat right? Well I just did it to make XP stop telling me to install it. Reboot, and BAM every problem with my video went the hell away. Damned if I know as to WHY that onboard audio had to do with the AGP but, it fixed it. Now for some FPS owning.
