geForce 4 Ti 4200 ?

Hi pals,

i would like to buy a new graphics card now and i can't afford a geForce 4 Ti 4400 or a TI 4600. so what i would like to know is whether (and when) GeForce 4 Ti 4200 would be out in the market.

should i wait or should i go for a gef 3 ti 500 (which too costs around 250 $ now, so that's tough to afford too)

i read that the approx price of a geforce 4 ti 4200 would be 200 $.

so could someone shed some light on this issue.

The 4200 should be appearing in a couple of months at under $200. If you're desperate, go for a Ti200 which are only about $130 and will do anything you want. I'm waiting for the 4200 myself...

Unless you have your heart set on nVidia, don't overlook the Radeon 8500. Those can be had for ~ $160, retail. They benchmark just as high and in some cases higher than the GF3 Ti 500. Plus, you get great DVD support and a lot of people swear the 2D is superior to nVidia, although I'm not convinced it's that superior. ATI had some major driver trouble when the card launched. It took a few months, but they've finally got decent drivers available for the card.

If you have your heart set on nVidia, the GF3 Ti200 is good. Beware of the GF4 MX line, though.

It's too much competition for the Ti500 right now so wait about til the end of April and we should see the Ti4200 come out. If you have a card that's not too bad right now, wait til then. Plus the Ti4400 or Ti4600 should be out in full swing by then and you might have enough extra saved up by then to upgrade a bit higher.

i think i'll wait for the ti 4200. but i might have to do without a video card for a month. (coz i got mine lent to me from the guy that sold me the pc and i have to return it before april)
